Baseball Recap: Point Loma Snags Fifth Win in Last Six Games

Point Loma picked up another tournament win on Thursday. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the La Costa Canyon Mavericks.

Landon Moore tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Michael Hall, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Olson, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Point Loma has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for La Costa Canyon, they moved to 6-5 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coming up, Point Loma will face off against Eastlake at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for La Costa Canyon, they will take on San Marcos at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Mavericks' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
