Softball Game Preview: Triad Knights vs. Jersey Panthers

The Triad Knights will take on the Jersey Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Triad will be strutting in after a win while Jersey will be coming in after a defeat.

On Tuesday, Triad needed a bit of extra time to put away Highland. They won by a run and slipped past the Bulldogs 6-5. That's two games straight that the Knights have won by just one run.

Meanwhile, Jersey was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 7-1 to Mascoutah.

Jersey saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chloe Beemer, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Triad is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Jersey, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11-1.

Triad skirted past Jersey 5-4 in their previous meeting back in April. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
