Basketball Recap: Freeport Continues Home Dominance on Saturday

Freeport had won three straight home games and Jasmine Miles did her part to make it four on Saturday. The Freeport Bulldogs came out on top against the Magnolia Heights Chiefs by a score of 58-51 thanks in part to Miles, who went 10 of 18 on her way to 28 points along with six boards and three steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Freeport's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla Stephens, who posted three points in addition to seven steals and six assists. That's the most steals she has posted since back in February.

Freeport is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points per game. As for Magnolia Heights, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Freeport and Elizabethton will round out the year against one another at at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Elizabethton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Freeport likes a good challenge. As for Magnolia Heights, they will be taking part in a tournament against South Walton at 3:00 p.m. on Monday.
