Baseball Recap: Western Christian Comes Up Short

Western Christian extended their losing streak to six on Friday, dropping their season record down to 1-14 in the process. They lost 17-7 to the Colton Vikings. That's two games in a row now that the Pioneers have lost by exactly ten runs.

As for Colton, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-7. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Colton's part, Wyatt Kimsey made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. Kimsey was also solid in the batter's box, earning one RBI, one run, and one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that he has snagged this season.

In other batting news, Wyatt Shanniak was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with five stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Montgomery Robinson was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI.
