On Friday, Purvis faced Seminary in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Purvis Tornadoes sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Seminary Bulldogs. The win continues a trend for the Tornadoes in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won six in a row.

Jacob Parker was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Parker was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing Three bases. while going 3-for-4. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on JoJo Parker, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyce Shepherd, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Purvis' victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Seminary, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4.

Looking ahead, Purvis will challenge Oak Forest Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. We've got a battle between Bulldogs coming up.
