Baseball Recap: Indian Springs Comes Up Short

It was a Battle of the Birds when Indian Springs challenged Lake Mead Christian Academy on Monday. The Thunderbirds lost 14-4 to the Eagles. The defeat continues a trend for the Thunderbirds in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost seven in a row.

Adam Groeblinghoff made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one double. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. Another player making a difference was Jacob Gourley, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Indian Springs' loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Lake Mead Christian Academy, their win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1.

Looking ahead, Indian Springs will challenge Tonopah at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Thunderbirds' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Muckers have averaged an impressive 10.5 runs per game this season. As for Lake Mead Christian Academy, they are taking a road trip to challenge Sunrise Mountain at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles are facing the Miners at the right time seeing as the Miners are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
