Baseball Recap: Firestone Triumphs

Firestone won the last time they faced Springfield and things went their way on Friday too. The Falcons came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 10-6. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.

The team relied heavily on Jason Chestnut, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Firestone is 5-1 when Chestnut posts two or more runs, but 1-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jose Uzcategui, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.

Firestone's record now sits at 6-4. As for Springfield, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Firestone will welcome Ellet at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Orangement have averaged an impressive 9.7 runs per game this season. As for Springfield, they will host Ravenna at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
