Volleyball Recap: Scott Takes a Loss

Scott was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Springfield Blue Devils. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Blue Devils when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Scott took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-6, 25-8, 28-14.

Springfield's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jonah Sheppard, who had seven digs and three aces. What's more, Sheppard posted three assists, the most he's had since back in May of 2024.

Scott's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Springfield, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Scott will take on rival Anthony Wayne at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Springfield is set to face off against their familiar foe Avon at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
