Preview: Elgin Comets vs. Upper Scioto Valley Rams
Elgin is 2-8 against the Rams since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Elgin Comets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Upper Scioto Valley Rams at 7:30 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Elgin has struggled recently with eight losses in a row, while the Rams will arrive with six straight wins.
Last Tuesday, Elgin took a serious blow against the Cubs, falling 72-29. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Elgin has scored all season.
Meanwhile, everything went Upper Scioto Valley's way against the Raiders on Saturday as the Rams made off with a 64-41 win.
Elgin's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Upper Scioto Valley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 9-5 record this season.
Elgin couldn't quite finish off the Rams in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 and fell 59-56. Can Elgin avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
