Soccer Game Preview: Effingham County vs. Evans

The Effingham County Rebels will face off against the Evans Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Effingham County's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They put the hurt on Brantley County with a sharp 7-0 win. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Rebels were the better team in the second half.

Their offense was hitting Brantley County from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Isabelle Rahn led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Evans waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Golden Hawks as they made off with a 10-0 victory. The Knights' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three matches.

Evans pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those three contests. As for Effingham County, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Effingham County suffered a grim 8-1 defeat to Evans in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Effingham County was down 7-0.
