Basketball Recap: Forest City Takes a Loss

Forest City has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 57-52 heartbreaker at the hands of the Algona Bulldogs. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

Forest City's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Algona, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Forest City won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against West Hancock at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. The Indians will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 63.1 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Algona, they will also get right back to it: they'll face off against Webster City at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will be up against the Lynx's rather soft defense (which has allowed 54.43 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
