Basketball Recap: Michael Petty's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Keystone Heights over Palatka

Keystone Heights and Palatka squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Keystone Heights had to settle for second. They took a 69-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Palatka Panthers. The Indians haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Keystone Heights lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Michael Petty, who went 7 for 10 on his way to 19 points and six boards. Those 19 points gave Petty a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dereon Tochterman, who went 5 of 8 en route to 13 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Even though they lost, Keystone Heights was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Keystone Heights' loss dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Palatka, they moved to 7-19 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Keystone Heights does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Palatka has already played their next game (against Bradford), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
