Grace Academy had lost three straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 3-5 to make it four. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 8-3 to the Heritage Academy Eagles, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Knights were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 11-9.

Austin Sweeney was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Grace Academy is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 1-4 otherwise.
At the plate, Grace Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaeden Peterson, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Peterson has hit this season. Another was AJ Presley, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
As for Heritage Academy, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-3. That five run margin sets a new team best for them this season.
On Heritage Academy's side, Caleb Wise and Noah Poe made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Wise didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Poe pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Wise has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Wise went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs, while Poe went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Micah Wilson was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.
Coming up, Grace Academy will be taking part in a tournament against Hancock at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Heritage Academy, they will face off against GVCS Broadfording at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
