Softball Recap: Irondale Takes a Loss

Irondale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 11-1 to the East Ridge Raptors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raptors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-3 two weeks ago.

Irondale saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maria Walsh, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Irondale's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for East Ridge, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

Looking ahead, Irondale will challenge Park at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wolfpack's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for East Ridge, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Forest Lake at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Raptors have won five straight at home dating back to last season, while the Rangers won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
