Recap: Buckley Bears vs. Glen Lake Lakers
The Buckley Bears lost against the Glen Lake Lakers back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The match between the two teams wasn't particularly close, with Buckley falling 55-36. They have not had much luck with Glen Lake recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Glen Lake found their leader in underclassman Jacob Plamondon, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Plamondon has scored at least 25% of Glen Lake's points. Benji Allen was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Buckley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Glen Lake, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.
Buckley will head out on the road to face off against Benzie Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Benzie Central presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Buckley in Michigan (Benzie Central is ranked 88th, while Buckley is ranked 396th). Glen Lake will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Frankfort at 7:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
