Softball Recap: Grossmont Comes Up Short

Grossmont was the 2-1 winner over La Costa Canyon when they last played one another back in May of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Grossmont took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of La Costa Canyon on Tuesday.

Grossmont saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jenna Ennis, who went 1-for-4 with one double and one RBI. Madison Busch also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Grossmont has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7-1 record this season. The win was the fourth in a row for La Costa Canyon, bringing their record up to 8-3.

Coming up, Grossmont will take on Eastlake at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Eastlake will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Grossmont surely won't give up without a fight. As for La Costa Canyon, they will square off against West Hills at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The last four games West Hills has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
