Baseball Recap: William Tennent Panthers vs. Lower Moreland Lions

William Tennent was the 11-7 winner over Lower Moreland when they last played one another back in May of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The William Tennent Panthers wound up with the same score they had in their last game (3-1), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.

Mike Woehr was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). Woehr was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Woehr wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Sam Vernick, who went 1-for-3 with an RBI.

On Lower Moreland's side, Keegan Courduff tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched.

At the plate, Jackson Calder was excellent, going 3-for-3 with a stolen base and an RBI.

William Tennent's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Lower Moreland, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. William Tennent will face off against Wissahickon at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lower Moreland, they will head out on the road to challenge Quakertown at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams have allowed few runs on average, (Quakertown: 2.8, Lower Moreland: 2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
