Basketball Recap: Arroyo Grande Takes a Loss

After flying high against Templeton last Tuesday, Arroyo Grande came back down to earth. The Arroyo Grande Eagles had to suffer through a 77-45 loss at the hands of the St. Joseph Knights. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-22.

It was another big night for Tounde Yessoufou, who dropped a double-double on 36 points and 12 rebounds for St. Joseph. Yessoufou's evening made it 19 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Malcolm Price, who went 6 of 8 on his way to 15 points.

Arroyo Grande's defeat dropped their record down to 10-13. As for St. Joseph, they pushed their record up to 21-1 with the win, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season.

Arroyo Grande will host Mission College Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Joseph, they will face off against Salesian College Preparatory at 8:15 p.m. on Saturday. Salesian College Preparatory will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something St. Joseph surely won't give up without a fight.
