Softball Game Preview: St. Luke's Storm vs. Kingswood Oxford Wyverns

The St. Luke's Storm are taking a road trip to face off against the Kingswood Oxford Wyverns at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Kingswood Oxford took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on St. Luke's, who comes in off a win.

Last Wednesday, St. Luke's narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Cheshire Academy 9-7. The victory continues a trend for the Storm in their matchups with the Cats: they've now won three in a row.

Lucia Biasotti made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Biasotti was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lucy Millones, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie Fatsi, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Kingswood Oxford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 3-1 to St. Paul Catholic, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The loss was just more heartbreak for the Wyverns, who fell 3-1 when the teams last met on Thursday.

The win got St. Luke's back to even at 1-1. As for Kingswood Oxford, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
