Soccer Recap: Port Charlotte Comes Up Short

Port Charlotte was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Charlotte Fightin' Tarpons. Sadly, that's the third time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-0 back in December of 2024.

Their goal came courtesy of Mike Wooben, who's now up to two this season.

Port Charlotte's loss dropped their record down to 4-8-3. As for Charlotte, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3-2 record this season.

Port Charlotte didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Booker on the 17th. Charlotte does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
