Volleyball Recap: Pike Red Devils vs. Warren Central Warriors
Pike was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Warren Central Warriors. While the Red Devils didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Warriors 25-16 in the first set.
Pike took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 16-25, 25-19, 20-25, 25-21, 15-10.
Dean Moxam paced Pike's offense, picking up 13 kills. Moxam got some help from PP Moo and his 27 assists. Finally, Moxam was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.
Pike's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Warren Central, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pike will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Ben Davis at 7:00 p.m. on April 7. As for Warren Central, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Center Grove at 6:00 p.m.
