Football Recap: Amphitheater Panthers vs. Rio Rico Hawks
Amphitheater was the 31-14 winner over Rio Rico when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Panthers took a blow against the Hawks on Friday, falling 42-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Panthers have suffered against the Hawks since October 20, 2017.
Imanol Silva threw for 47 yards on five of 14 attempts.
Sebastian Castro was nothing short of spectacular for Rio Rico: he threw for 245 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.1 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 39 yards and a pair of scores. The dominant performance also gave Castro a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two). Another player making a difference was Abiel Yanez, who gained 95 total yards and a touchdown.
Amphitheater's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Rio Rico, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
