Baseball Recap: Wayne County War Eagles vs. Taylorsville Tartars
If Wayne County was riding high fresh off their 9-1 takedown of Taylorsville last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wayne County War Eagles lost 10-4 to the Taylorsville Tartars on Monday. The War Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tartars earlier this season, when they won 9-1.
Wayne County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayson Graham, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, Graham posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. Colt Branch also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Looking ahead, Wayne County will host Greene County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Taylorsville, they will face off against Sumrall at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sumrall's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Taylorsville's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
