Softball Recap: Harlan Victorious

Harlan took a nine-run loss the last time they faced off against Knott County Central, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Green Dragons had just enough and edged out the Patriots 5-4 on Friday. For the Green Dragons, this counts as revenge for the 14-5 win the Patriots walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

The team relied heavily on Ella Lisenbee, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. J Wynn also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Harlan's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Knott County Central, their defeat was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Harlan will host Harlan County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Knott County Central, they will be playing at home against Prestonsburg at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
