Preview: Ripon Indians vs. Livingston Wolves
Ripon is 9-1 against Livingston since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Ripon Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the Livingston Wolves at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Ripon unfortunately witnessed the end of their ten-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 72-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ripon Christian. Ripon has struggled against Ripon Christian recently, as their contest on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Ripon had strong showings from Ethan Baur, who scored nine points along with three steals, and Logan Lefebvre, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Gillespie, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Livingston didn't have too much trouble with Hilmar on the road on Thursday as they won 69-52. The win was just what Livingston needed coming off of a 83-46 loss in their prior game.
Livingston found their leader in underclassman Adrian Aguirre, who scored 28 points. Joseph Theodore was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Ripon's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-6. As for Livingston, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-14.
Keep an eye on the arc in Wednesday's match: Ripon have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having only averaged 5.2 threes per game. It's a different story for Livingston, though, as they've been averaging only 6.5 threes per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Ripon beat Livingston 67-54 in their previous meeting on January 3rd. Will Ripon repeat their success, or does Livingston have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
