Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Hugo

Hugo extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 12-17 in the process. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Henryetta Knights. This was payback for the Buffaloes, who suffered a 13-3 loss the last time these two teams met.

The team relied heavily on Dakota Coulter, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double. He has become a key player for Hugo: the team is 10-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-15 otherwise.

As for Henryetta, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season. Their defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it six in a row.

On Henryetta's side, Boston Morris was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits Morris has allowed since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Morris wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Bowdler, who went 1-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
