The Muncie Burris Owls are taking a road trip to take on the Blue River Valley Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Muncie Burris will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Muncie Burris is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Indianapolis Shortridge 21-5 on Saturday. With that win, the Owls brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.
Solomon Muliiira made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 15 batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Those 15 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played.

Northeastern hit Blue River Valley with a four-run first inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Vikings fell 8-3 to the Knights. The Vikings haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.
Blue River Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was EVAN ZENTZ, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. Another was EVAN BLACKBURN, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs.
Muncie Burris' record is now 8-9. As for Blue River Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Muncie Burris has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Blue River Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Muncie Burris might still be hurting after the 10-1 defeat they got from Blue River Valley in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Owls avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
