Softball Recap: Ascension Christian Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Ascension Christian's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They came out on top against the Bourgeois Braves by a score of 7-3. Ascension Christian has seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw Bourgeois, too.

Marie Brignac made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Brignac was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Grace Aucoin was incredible, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Emory Walter was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.

Ascension Christian's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-8-1. As for Bourgeois, their record is now 10-12.

Looking ahead, Ascension Christian is taking a road trip to challenge Loranger at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bourgeois, they will be playing in front of their home fans against E.D. White at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
