Basketball Recap: Rancho Bernardo Wins Going Away Against Escondido

Rancho Bernardo won the last time they faced Escondido and things went their way on Friday too. The Rancho Bernardo Broncos took down the Escondido Cougars 62-45. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Broncos.

Rancho Bernardo can attribute much of their success to Lucas Winkler, who posted 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Sanchez, who had ten points.

Escondido's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nathan James, who scored 14 points. Maddox Mendoza was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Rancho Bernardo now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Escondido, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rancho Bernardo will head out to face off against Ramona at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ramona has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Escondido, they will head out on the road to square off against San Pasqual at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Escondido is facing San Pasqual at the right time seeing as San Pasqual is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
