Volleyball Preview: Sequoyah Chiefs vs. Houston County Bears

After both having extra time off, the Sequoyah Chiefs and the Houston County Bears will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sequoyah will be strutting in after a win while Houston County will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Thursday, Sequoyah got the win against Creekview by a conclusive 3-0.

Sequoyah can attribute much of their success to Jessica White, who had eight digs and three aces. That's the most aces White has posted since back in September. River West also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Meanwhile, Houston County didn't have quite enough to beat Thomas County Central last Monday and fell 2-1.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Houston County sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 24-26, 15-12.

Houston County's loss dropped their record down to 22-14. As for Sequoyah, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That somehow still isn't as good as their 20-5 record this season.
