Basketball Recap: Peaster Wins Going Away Against Lapoynor

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Brock, Peaster was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 60-42 win over the LaPoynor Flyers. For the Greyhounds, this counts as revenge for the 70-62 victory the Flyers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

Peaster has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points per game. As for LaPoynor, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-6.

Peaster and LaPoynor should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Peaster (ranked 544th) will meet Tolar (ranked 1137th) at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Similarly, LaPoynor will challenge Fruitvale at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday up 670 places (294 vs. 964).
