Baseball Recap: Caldwell Comes Up Short

Caldwell's last matchup with Skyview could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Thursday. Caldwell lost 15-5 to Skyview. The loss leaves the Cougars still looking for their first win of the season.

Eric Kammerman made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Connor Fullerton, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Even though they lost, Caldwell was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Caldwell's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Skyview, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2-1.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Caldwell Cougars duke it out with Mountain Home Tigers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Skyview, they will head out to challenge Middleton at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Skyview 2.8, Middleton 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
