Recap: Woodsboro Eagles vs. Goliad Tigers
The Woodsboro Eagles lost against the Goliad Tigers last Thursday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Woodsboro was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 53-52 to Goliad. While losing is never fun, Woodsboro can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1463rd, while Goliad is ranked 719th).
Woodsboro lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Layton Jochetz, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amarian Zambezi, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Woodsboro has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Goliad, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 15-2.
Woodsboro and Falls City will face off at 5:30 p.m. on December 15th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Goliad's road trip will continue as they head out to face Floresville at 4:00 p.m. on December 15th. Floresville will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
