Softball Recap: Skowhegan Picks Up 12th Straight Win on the Road

Skowhegan faced Oxford Hills in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The River Hawks walked away with a 5-2 win over the Vikings. Surprisingly, this marked the River Hawks' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Skowhegan's victory was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Oxford Hills, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-3.

The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the River Hawks 3.8, the Rams 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
