Recap: Northside Christian Academy Knights vs. Hickory Grove Christian Lions
The Northside Christian Academy Knights waltzed into their matchup Thursday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Hickory Grove Christian 75-14 at home. The result was nothing new for Northside Christian Academy, who have now won seven matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.
Kyrell Shaw continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 24 points along with three steals. Arael Jones was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with four steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Hickory Grove Christian struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Northside Christian Academy's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.3 points per game. As for Hickory Grove Christian, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northside Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Concord Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 5th. Hopefully Concord Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday. As for Hickory Grove Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Metrolina Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
