Basketball Game Preview: Maple Heights Mustangs vs. Mayfield Wildcats

The Maple Heights Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Mayfield Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

As a matter of fact, Maple Heights put up the most points they have all season on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 70-51 victory over Shaw. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now won eight in a row.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Mayfield duked it out with Orange on Friday. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 78-54 victory.

The win got Mayfield back to even at 2-2. As for Maple Heights, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Maple Heights didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Mayfield in their previous meeting back in December of 2016, but they still walked away with a 67-63 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
