Baseball Recap: Christchurch School's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After low-scoring totals in their previous five game, Christchurch School brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They were the clear victors by a 13-7 margin over the Hampton Roads Academy Navigators on Wednesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Seahorses as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Cam Byers was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Byers was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Christchurch School let Mac Bargatze and Baylen Miller run wild. Bargatze went 2-for-4 with three runs, while Miller got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits Bargatze has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Dallas Davis, who went 1-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Christchurch School's record is now 5-13. As for Hampton Roads Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Coincidentally, Christchurch School and Hampton Roads Academy will both be playing Isle of Wight Academy the next time they take the field. The Navigators will head out to face the Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Seahorses will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
