Soccer Game Preview: Cedar Ridge vs. McNeil

The Cedar Ridge Raiders will square off against the McNeil Mavericks at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Cedar Ridge will be strutting in after a victory while McNeil will be coming in after a loss.

Cedar Ridge was handed a three-goal defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over Vista Ridge. The game was the first time Cedar Ridge have beaten Vista Ridge on their pitch since February 11, 2022.

Meanwhile, McNeil was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Vista Ridge. While losing is never fun, McNeil can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 258th, while Vista Ridge are ranked 119th).

Cedar Ridge now has a winning record of 7-6-5. As for McNeil, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11-2.
