Pickens had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Everything went their way against the Greer Middle College Blazers on Friday as they made off with a 69-47 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Blue Flame have posted against the Blazers since November 22, 2016.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pickens to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brooks Dow, who shot 60% from the field to rack up 20 points and seven rebounds. Dow is on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Will Stone, who went 5-for-8 on his way to 10 points.

Pickens wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 39-38 win against Travelers Rest on the 22nd. As for Greer Middle College, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Chesnee at 7:45 p.m. on December 3.
