Baseball Recap: Bishop Reicher Catholic's Luck Changes for the Better on Saturday

Bishop Reicher Catholic never got on the board in their matchup on Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Hubbard on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Hubbard Jaguars as they made off with a 15-3 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Cougars as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season.

TJ Bradley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits (and only one walk). Bradley was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two).

In other batting news, David Meyer was a standout: he scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Wyatt Brown was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Bishop Reicher Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .741. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hubbard only posted an OBP of .333.

Bishop Reicher Catholic's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Hubbard, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

The future could be bright for both Bishop Reicher Catholic and Hubbard: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Bishop Reicher Catholic will try to hand Bracken Christian their fourth-straight defeat when the two meet on March 11th. Meanwhile, Hubbard will look to extend Bremond's three-game losing streak when they meet at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
