Baseball Recap: Madonna Makes It Six in a Row at Home

Madonna got themselves on the board against Magnolia on Tuesday, but Magnolia never followed suit. They blew past the Blue Eagles 10-0. The Blue Dons haven't had any issues with the Blue Eagles recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

David Connors made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Brennen Gray was a standout: he scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in both of his plate appearances. Mathew Geer was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Madonna pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Magnolia, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Madonna will head out on the road to take on Monroe Central at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Magnolia, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Cameron at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. This will be Magnolia's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
