Baseball Recap: North Platte Panthers vs. South Holt Knights

North Platte extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 12-13 in the process. They came up short against the South Holt Knights, falling 13-5. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

As for South Holt, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-6. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For South Holt's part, Tycen Skeen made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Skeen was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Hayes Weller was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs and three RBI. He continues to improve, besting his previous run total in each of the last three games he's played. Cole Medsker also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Platte will host Tarkio at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for South Holt, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Gallatin at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
