Volleyball Recap: Elizabethton Gets the Win

Chuckey-Doak came into Thursday's matchup looking for another win against Elizabethton, but Sydney Minton wouldn't allow it. The Fighting Cyclones sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Black Knights on Thursday with plenty of help from Minton, who had 18 digs and one assist. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Elizabethton took Chuckey-Doak into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 19-25, 22-25, 25-20, 20-18.

Elizabethton's win bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Chuckey-Doak, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Elizabethton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Patrick Henry on the 27th. As for Chuckey-Doak, they will host West Greene at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Buffaloes will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something the Black Knights surely won't give up without a fight.
