Spring Valley came tearing into Saturday's matchup with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.3 points), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victor by a 69-44 margin over the St. Albans Red Dragons. The Timberwolves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 24 points or more this season.

Defeat or not, St. Albans got some senior leadership from Samyah Riggan and Jaycee Elzy. Riggan posted nine points and seven boards, while Elzy scored 13 points. What's more, Elzy also posted a 67% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jaelyn Vance, who had three points and six rebounds.

Spring Valley's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.4 points over those games. As for St. Albans, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Spring Valley will head out to square off against Parkersburg at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for St. Albans, they will venture away from home to challenge Charleston Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Charleston Catholic knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully St. Albans likes a good challenge.
