Volleyball Recap: Alliance Takes a Loss

After flying high against Garfield on Friday, Alliance came back down to earth. The Aviators came up short against the United Golden Eagles on Monday, falling 3-0. The Aviators were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-15, 25-20.

United can attribute much of their success to Baylee Smith, who had seven digs and three aces. That's the most aces Smith has posted since back in October of 2024.

Alliance's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for United, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Alliance will take on Springfield at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for United, they will challenge Leetonia at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give the Golden Eagles their first taste of in-conference action this season.
