Basketball Game Preview: Monte Del Sol Charter Dragons vs. Legacy Academy Silverbacks

The Monte Del Sol Charter Dragons are taking a road trip to challenge the Legacy Academy Silverbacks at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Monte Del Sol Charter has now lost 12 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 20.

Monte Del Sol Charter is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Native American Community Academy/Evangel Christian Academy on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Monte Del Sol Charter was dealt a 57-5 loss at the hands of Native American Community Academy/Evangel Christian Academy. The Dragons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-2.

They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Renata Corral and Angela Jacobs, who each put up two points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Legacy Academy). They claimed a resounding 61-10 win over Oak Grove Classical Academy. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Silverbacks had established a 43 point advantage.

The victory made it two in a row for Legacy Academy and bumps their season record up to 14-6. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.5 points over those games. As for Monte Del Sol Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-15.

Monte Del Sol Charter took a serious blow against Legacy Academy when the teams last played last Tuesday, falling 56-8. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Monte Del Sol Charter was down 34-3.
