Volleyball Recap: Prout Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with La Salle Academy + How To Watch

Prout faced La Salle Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Crusaders fell 3-1 to the Rams. The Crusaders were not able to make up for their loss to the Rams from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Prout started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-21, 25-12, 25-22.

Lily Cui and Brooke Rutherford certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Cui had 15 digs, while Rutherford had 13 assists and four aces.

Prout has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for La Salle Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Prout didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Portsmouth on the 2nd. Hopefully La Salle Academy paid attention to the Crusaders' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Crusaders at 6:30 p.m. on the 16th.
