Recap: Mineola Yellowjackets vs. Winnsboro Raiders
After some red-hot offensive attacks in their last three game, The Mineola Yellowjackets finally came back down to earth on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 42-0 loss at the hands of Winnsboro. While losing is never fun, Mineola can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 609th, while Winnsboro is ranked 87th).
Braydon Alley threw for 102 yards while completing 72.2% of his passes. Ainsley Steward was his top target, picking up 53 receiving yards and no touchdowns. On the ground, Trevor Singeltary rushed for 50 yards.
Mineola's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 3-5. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 16.7 points per game. As for Winnsboro, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Mineola will head out on the road to face off against Rains at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rains comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Winnsboro, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bonham at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
