Basketball Recap: Iowa Colony's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak on the Road

On Tuesday, the Iowa Colony Pioneers lost to the La Porte Bulldogs on the road by a 51-34 margin.

Despite the defeat, Iowa Colony saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kenadie Francis dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlize Lagard, who posted seven points.

Even though they lost, Iowa Colony smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 26 consecutive matches.

Iowa Colony's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-11. As for La Porte, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Friendswood the next time they take the court. Iowa Colony will host Friendswood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while La Porte will host them at 7:00 p.m. on January 14th.
