Volleyball Recap: Delavan Panthers vs. Olympia Spartans
Delavan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Olympia Spartans. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-14.
Kara Lowry paced Delavan's offense, picking up seven kills. Lowry got some help from Lilly Carlton and her seven assists.
Olympia's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brooklyn Komnick led the charge by getting six digs, two aces, and one block. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Rycyzyn, who had nine digs and two aces.
Delavan's defeat dropped their record down to 5-26. As for Olympia, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-16 record this season.
Delavan is taking a road trip to challenge Princeville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Olympia, they will host Warrensburg-Latham at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
